Found a job!
I am feeling especially blessed this Christmas with a new job that I begin tomorrow. My last job ended last Friday.
Looking for a job is hard work. On the optimistic side, it's an opportunity to sell yourself to the highest bidder. On the pessimistic side, it feels like no one wants you or they want you at the lowest possible price. I guess these are the ups and downs in a capitalistic system.
I actually had 2 offers to consider! The 2nd one kept upping the offer to make me consider working there. It was a very affirming experience and a little stressful as I had to say no to one of them.
Simplicity has been a theme in my life lately. The job I chose will pay less but will likely be less stressful and will require little or no overtime.
I'm looking to develop a pattern of life as I drive to and from work each day. I've got at least 30 minutes each way. Perhaps a day of silence. Another day it might be music. I want to develop new patterns that will feed my soul.
