Sacredness

I'm enchanted by the poems of Wendell Berry. I've been reading and then reading again his book of poems, "A Timbered Choir - The Sabbath Poems 1979-1997."

In his poems I find a deep connection between mankind, nature, the land and God. I think he's able to communicate a sacredness of the natural world God has created. This sacred attitude is a stark contrast to the idea that nature is simply something to control and use.

For example, he talks of trees and their perspective on the world. "What do the tall trees say to the late havoc in the sky? They sigh." (page 134)
